I am an incoming freshmen at Northern Michigan University. I graduated from New Buffalo High School in lower Michigan. I plan on working on degrees in both Social Studies and Education at Northern and I cannot wait to begin.
Experience
During high school I was involved in The Big Brothers, Big Sisters program for two years, my "little sister" and I are great friends and she has doubled her grade point average. I was also the president of the Future Educators program for a year but was involved for two years. Also for two trimesters I was a middle school, social studies, teachers aid. I would take a group of (around 5) kids aside that need a little extra help. I have been tutoring kids off and on, since I was in the eighth grade through adminstrations (teachers,prinicpals and counselors) resquest. Included in these numerous people/kids, some were emotionally handicapped and mentally handicapped, and some just needed extra one-on-one time to fully understand the concepts. For the past two summers I have worked at the Harbor Country Summer Day Camp as an assistant couselor for grade levels k1-k2 and 2nd-3rd. A normal group size is around twelve kids, it is challenging but fun. As you have read I love kids and helping educate others it is my passsion and I would love to help your kids or teens as well if I can.

Hobbies
During high school I was a football varsity cheerleader for three years. I participated in colorguard for four years, two of those I was captain. I also was involved in numerous different clubs including National Honor Society, Future Educators of America, Big Brothers & Big Sisters and student senate. Outside of school, it is rare to find me alone and doing nothing. I am alway hanging out outside ither kayaking, swimming or fishing. When i am not on the water you can find me fourwheeling, hiking or camping. As you can tell I love being out doors and having fun.
